Environment Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI) conducted programme on “WORLD EARTH DAY” at EPTRI on 22.04.2022. Smt A. Vani Prasad, IAS, Director General, EPTRI & Prl. Secretary to Govt, of Telangana, chaired the programme and spoke on investing in our only home, i.e..planet earth. She said we all have earth as our common mother and our only home. She also mentioned that the individuals should play a recompensatory role to protect mother earth. She also stressed that before nature takes its own course, it’s our duty to protect ourselves on the only home with due respect and care so as to live harmony and peace with nature.

 

Smt A. Leelavathi, Environment Scientist, ESDI/c presented on the impacts of plastic waste and discussed on the importance of phasing Single Use Plastic (SUP).  She has showcased some of the alternatives in place of SUPs which can be practiced in a day to day life..Dr.J.Sesha Srinivas, Sr.Scientist & Head Climate Change presented on Impacts of Climate change and actions to adopt and mitigate with the Green initiatives.

 

The Director General, EPTRI has released the poster on the Theme of “Do’s for a Cooler Workspace” and administered the pledge communicated by MoEF&CC to protect Environment.

 

The programme included  educational activity with quiz and group discussions on Environmental issues.
