Notes in brief about the press meet conducted today .
Today (19-05-2021) in a press meet conducted at DR BRKR government Ayurveda college hyderabad.
Director Dr Alagu Varshini IAS. department of AYUSH addressed press along with team of ayurveda experts.
Dr. Varshini said that many black fungus cases which are hiking in number in post COVID patients need special care and this can be like adding some ayurveda medicines will help them either for quick recovery or to reduce morbidity and mortality.
Ayurveda medicines help to strengthen the individual’s immunity and help them to fight against the disease in 2 ways. One is to get prophylactic care and another is to help the patients to reduce their hospital stay or and to help them to get well soon and to reduce mortality rate.
An ayurveda expert team is constituted to study possibility of helping public at large to fight against black fungus – Mucormycosis- both for prophylactic care and adjuvant care.

For this
2 special medical protocols are proposed
Prophylactic Ayurveda medicine will help the patients who are at high risk to black fungus will be helped by strengthening their inner immunity. For this specific food and activity also will be advised along with medicines.
Second is after Surgical debridement and along with conventional anti fungals.
Selective ayurveda medicines also will be added as adjuvant therapy. This will help the patients to respond well to total treatments as this specially supports immunity and hope this will reduce mortality rate.
After obtaining necessary permissions, special ayurveda medicines will be given at Gandhi hospital and govt ENT hospital by the supervision of 2 expert teams.
Preventive ayurveda Medicines will be distributed at Dr BRKR government ayurveda college & Govt ayurveda hospital – Erragadda, Hyderabad.
Meanwhile these medicines will be made available in all government ayurvedic dispensaries across the state of Telangana for public reach.
By randomly adapting special dietetic care and minimal physical activity and meditation will help to maintain good glycemic levels.
The press meet is attended by medical superintendent of GAH Dr Ramachandra Reddy and the addl director of ayurveda Dr Anasuya and programme is coordinated by Dr Ramadevi and Dr Umasrinivas.
