WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
Theme: Eco-System Restoration
Greetings to everyone on world environment day.
First time it is observed on June 5th 1974 to create environmental awareness and sensitization to environmental problems. The Covid-19 situation across the globe re-emphasised the need for Eco-System restoration and Ecological balance on the planet Earth.It is important to care for our environment we live in.
Our Hon’ble Chief Minister emphasized time and again that “It is our responsibility to protect our environment and forest wealth for generationsto come on the planet. This is a great wealth for mankind, more than the inherited ancestral wealth”. Everyone has to take action in restoration of ecosystem.
The Ecosystem could be Forest Ecosystem, Lake Ecosystem, Agriculture Ecosystem and so on.Everywhere actions are required for restoring Ecological balance. Then only the landscape will be vibrant and support life on it.
The Forest Development Corporation is taking up.
- Green manure application:
The Eucalyptus is grown on same soils rotation after rotation for over 40 years now. The monoculture has depleted soil, therefore there is a need to restore soil health.
It is proposed to sow 20 Kg of sunhemp seed in the 1st and 2ndyear of plantation maintenance sites and the germinated sunhemp crop will be ploughed back after 45 days. This is proposed in 3000 Ha of newly grown plantation sites in last (2) years.
This will add humus to soil and activate microbial decomposition of biomass and ensures nutrient recycling. It will enrich soil water holding capacity which ultimately contributes to the productivity from plantations. This will stop land degradation thus restoring ecology to some extent.
- Replacement of Eucalyptus plantations within proposed Regional Ring Road:
There is about 3000 Ha. of the Eucalyptusplantation in GHMC area and area within proposed Regional Ring Road. Forest Blocks like Suraram, Bowrampet, Gowdawelly, G.Ramaram, Pochampally, Shamirpet, Lalgadi Malakpet, Thumukunta, Nagarametc all are in very close proximityto Habitations at present.
With growing city it is not good to have Eucalyptusmonoculture in habitation surroundings. Once we plant the Eucalyptus,plant will remain for (20) years as it has to complete (3) rotations. The city will expand in (20) years. Therefore it is planned to replace this extent of Eucalyptus Plantations in next (10) years. This year it is planned to replace the 300 Ha of Eucalyptusplantation area whichis harvested and ready for planting with Sandal, Rose wood, Narepi, Bamboo, Terminalia, Seethaphal, Teak etc., which are native species and yield income to corporation in longterm. The will be block plantations andyadadri model plantations. This adds to biodiversity conservation.
Healing of the Ecosystems will ensuresustainable services of the life supporting requirements like clean air, potable water, healthy soil on the planet Earth.
పర్యావరణదినోత్సవముJune 5th
Theme:పర్యావరణ పునరుద్దరణ.
అంతర్జాతీయ పర్యావరణ దినోత్సవ సందర్బంగా అందరికి శుభాకాంక్షలు తెలియజేస్తున్నాను. గత సంవత్సరం నుండి అనుభవాలు మనము అనుభవించిన క్షోభ పర్యావరణ సమతుల్యతకు సంబందించి ప్రతి ఒక్కరు కార్యోన్ముఖులు కావలసిన అవసరం ఉంది.
మన ప్రియతమ ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు చెప్పినట్టు భావి తరాలకు మనము జీవించడానికి అనువైన వాతావరణాన్ని ఆస్తిగా ఇవ్వగలిగితేనే మన అభివృద్దికి అర్థం ఉంటుంది. కాబట్టి పర్యావరణ పరిరక్షణలో ప్రతి ఒక్కరు భాగస్వాములు కావాలి.

పర్యావరణ సమతుల్యత దిశలో
- గత 40 సంవత్సరాలుగా నీలగిరి మొక్కలు అదే భూభాగంలో ఉన్నందున, మట్టిలో సమతుల్యత తీసుకురావటానికి జనుము విత్తనాలు హెక్టారు కు 20 కిలోల చొప్పున చల్లి, దున్ని మొలకెత్తిన 45 రోజులకు భూమిలోకి దున్నడం జరుగుతుంది. దీని వల్ల భూమి సారవంతమైతుంది. మట్టిలో హ్యూమస్ చేరటం వలన నీటిని నిలువరించుకునే సామర్థ్యం, పోషకాలను సూక్ష్మజీవులు recyclingచేసి,చెట్టు పెరుగుదలకు కూడ ఉపయోగపడుతుంది.
ఈ విత్తనాలు 1వ మరియు 2 వ సంవత్సరాల క్రితం మొక్కలు నాటిన ప్రదేశాలలో దాదాపు 3000 హెక్టారు లలో వేయడం జరుగుతుంది.
- ప్రతిపాదిత ప్రాదేశిక రింగు రోడ్డు లోపల యున్న 3000 హెక్టారుల నీలగిరి అడవులను ఇతర జాతులలో అభివృద్ధి చేయటం జరుగుతుంది. దీనికి సంబందించి రానున్న 10సంవత్సరాలలో పనులు జరుగుతాయి.

- Teak
- Bamboo
- Bijasal
- Narepi
- Seethaphal
- Terminalia (తాని)
జాతులతో యాదాద్రి పద్దతిలో మరియు బ్లాక్ ప్లాంటేషన్ పద్దతిలో పనులు జరుగుతాయి.
ఈ సంవత్సరము 2021-22 ప్లాంటింగు season లోనే 200 హెక్టారులలో బ్లాక్ ప్లాంటేషన్ మరియు 30 హెక్టార్లలో యాదాద్రి మోడల్ పద్దతిలో చేపట్టడం జరుగుతుంది.
ఈ చర్యలతో పర్యావరణ సమతుల్య దిశలో అటవీ అభివృద్ది సంస్థ పనులు చేపట్టడం జరుగుతుంది.
